Meet Sofia Giampaoli founder and CEO at Alt Atlas
Growing up in Argentina, one of the world’s largest meat producing countries, Sofia saw a lot of human and animal suffering. Because of these experiences, she developed a strong sense of responsibility to change things for the future. Driven by this passion, in 2013 Sofia quit her job in the oil and gas industry, moved to work in a multinational food corporation and later went to fund the first cultivated meat startup from Latin America in 2019.

Alt Atlas is creating a bioinformatics platform to deliver ingredients and solutions in the alternative meat and dairy sectors. The company utilises machine learning and stem cell culture techniques as well molecular farming techniques to build a global repository in both sectors and improve properties of available proteins.
