Founder’s Story: Meet Alison Fagan founder and CEO at CF Foods Group

by Olivia Chavassieu | Jun 23, 2022 | Blog | 0 comments

“I started my career in finance and moved into CPG from there. I have worked with #startups, government agencies and blue-chip companies across four continents. I believe in the power of brands to promote genuine, positive, meaningful change. The food industry faces huge challenges feeding a growing population equitably with finite resources. To meet the UN SDGs, it must adapt to be kinder, more humane and more #sustainable.

Harnessing the potential of biotechnology to produce clean #proteins is a huge opportunity to address many of these challenges. I have been following the cell-cultivated industry since it made headlines in 2013. I knew I wanted to be a part of its development and success. CF Foods Group was founded during the pandemic. With extra time at home during lockdown, I began researching accelerators, funding initiatives and the #cellcultivated global regulatory environment. BIV stood out as a leader in supporting food tech entrepreneurs, particularly in novel proteins with a global footprint.

I decided on dog treats as the first product to launch after much data driven research. A huge trend is the humanization of pets. Consumers want truly human grade, #ethical and #sustainable pet food. In addition, I love all animals, not just the ones that live in our homes, so I wanted to develop products that align with my values as a consumer.

The initial recipes for “Earl Greyhound Cultured Treats” were developed and baked in my kitchen in Los Angeles. I’ve recently relocated to Singapore with the goal of having “Earl Greyhound Cultured Treats” on shelf within the next 12 months. We will then expand by market based on regulatory approvals. Singapore is a fantastic, innovative and business friendly environment for entrepreneurs with #bigideas working to solve big problems. It’s great to be a part of the community here.”
