- Singapore’s Temasek Holdings, US food giant Tyson Foods, and Enterprise Singapore have backed Big Idea Ventures, a new fund looking to raise US$100 million to invest in startups focused on plant-based food, alternative protein, and related food technologies, reports DealStreetAsia.
- The three investors have committed to jointly contribute roughly 30% to 40% of the fund, Big Idea Ventures founder Andrew Ive said.
- While the firm intends to support global startups, it will require its future portfolio companies to base their operations in North America or Singapore.
- The company will launch a Singapore-based accelerator in July this year, which will fund about 80 to 100 early-stage startups in four years.
