Dr. Matthew Hayek is a science and policy researcher in climate change and food systems, joining the faculty of New York University as an Assistant Professor in Environmental Studies this fall. He received his PhD in environmental engineering from Harvard University, modeling how ecosystems and the atmosphere exchange greenhouse gases. His current research focuses on reducing greenhouse gases from agriculture and food, which make up more than 20% of global emissions.
