Plant power: Asian plant-based start-up scene expected to grow 25% by 2025

by Olivia Chavassieu | Sep 13, 2022 | Press | 0 comments

The Asian plant-based protein start-up scene is geared to grow 25% by 2025 as more Asians look into flexitarian diets and firms region-wide strive to develop products better suited to their palate.

The reason: Localisation

According to our Managing General Partner, Andrew D Ive, with more Asians moving towards a flexitarian diet, plant-based startups in the region have started recognising the importance of incorporating localised ingredients, flavours, textures, food tastes and food culture into their products.

Big Idea Ventures understands the potential of the alternative protein ecosystem in Asia and have made investments in Singapore, China, Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, India and Vietnam.
